At 7,200 feet, Laramie is nestled in a valley full of scenic vistas of the rolling Laramie Mountains to the east the grand Snowy Range Mountains that sprawl majestically to the west. Laramie is a thriving city of industry, high technology, academia and agriculture. The Rocky Mountain lifestyle has attracted many entrepreneurs to the area, and as the home of the only four-year university in the state, Laramie is a growing community on the cutting edge of industrial and technological development. The city of more than 27,000 people is the third largest community in Wyoming.

Laramie offers a superior workforce with a strong work ethic; stable, productive workers above-average education levels; excellent educational network and resources and customized employee training. The city’s philosophy is “Work where you play,” offering outstanding quality of life with a low cost of living, over 300 days of sunshine per year, clean air, laid-back lifestyle, college athletics, warm and friendly people and hundreds of recreational opportunities including biking, hiking, climbing, fishing, skiing and more.

Laramie sits along Interstate 80, the nation’s major east-west artery. Interstate 80 intersects Interstate 25 just 45 miles to the east, easily connecting Laramie to Cheyenne, Denver and the Colorado Front Range. The Laramie Regional Airport serves an average of 40 based aircraft, including private and corporate planes. The airport offers commercial air service through Great Lakes Airlines, which provides three flights to Denver International Airport daily.

The city offers several opportunities for higher education. The University of Wyoming is the state’s only provider of baccalaureate and graduate education, research, and outreach services. UW combines major-university benefits and small-school advantages, with more than 180 programs of study, an outstanding faculty, and world-class research facilities. The school of 13,000 students graduates an average of 2,300 students each year.

Laramie County Community College, Albany County Campus (ACC) is a critical training resource for Laramie’s workforce and services residents of all ages. ACC offers a wide range of Certificate and Associate Degree programs. College preparation, general education courses, and a selection of academic and career/technical degree programs are available. The city is home to the Ivinson Memorial Hospital (IMH), a 99-bed facility with nearly 50 active physicians. The hospital provides all of the services of a big city hospital including an advanced oncology center.

The nearby mountains offer a variety of year-round recreation and sightseeing opportunities. Vedauwoo, located 12 miles east of town, features towering granite rock formations that provide a stunning backdrop for picnicking, hiking, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, rock climbing and camping.
