The drives in and around Newcastle, Wyoming are drives through time marked by spectacular views, gorgeous scenery and plentiful wildlife. The location is unique, representing the best of two worlds. The short grass prairie of the High Plains and the Black Hills meet right in the community. Mount Rushmore, Devils Tower and other Black Hills attractions are an easy drive from Newcastle.
Newcastle, Wyoming is an ideal business location. U.S. Highways 16 and 85 intersect at Newcastle and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad has a rail yard with 2 rail lines through Newcastle. In addition, Newcastle is served by Mondell Airport and the nearby Upton Municipal Airport, both are general aviation airports that feature 5,300 and 3,700 feet of concrete and shale surfaces, respectfully, and lighted runways. Commercial service is available at the Gillette Airport, 76 miles from Newcastle and at the Natrona International Airport in Casper, 185 miles from Newcastle with connections to Denver, CO and Salt Lake City, UT.

Weston County is rich in history, scenic beauty and abundant wildlife. The area around Newcastle offers several “loop tours” that offer distinctive opportunities for sightseeing. The Wild West is still alive in Newcastle. One can also tour Dinosaur fossil areas, view abandoned homesteads along country roads and tour old stage stations lying in ruins amidst spectacular mountain scenery. To the north of Newcastle lie the ruins of Cambria, a company town peopled by miners and their families and immigrants from 23 nations. Newcastle boasts the Anna Miller Museum, a place where one can walk back in time and relive the old west.
